FlexiCAM presents an innovative solution known as Vilmill, which revolutionizes the machining process by introducing a substrate positioned between the workpiece and the vacuum table of a router. Vilmill boasts an integrated adhesion layer on its upper surface, which becomes activated during the routing procedure. When vacuum suction is applied, the fiber structure of Vilmill acts as a diffuser, significantly enhancing the holding power of the vacuum table. This unique combination of an adhesion layer and vacuum system ensures exceptional material stability, even for extremely small workpieces. Furthermore, once the machining process is complete, the workpieces can be effortlessly removed.

The versatility of Vilmill allows for a wide range of materials, including aluminum, plastics, glass fiber, carbon fiber, brass, copper, composite materials, and similar substances, to be effectively utilized in the machining process. By eliminating the limitations imposed by traditional fixturing methods, Vilmill enables higher feed rates to be achieved, even for delicate and intricate parts.

The implementation of the Vilmill concept leads to a reduction in reworking requirements and rejects, as the workpieces remain securely in place throughout the machining operation. By eliminating the need for fixtures, the workpieces can be positioned near each other, resulting in optimized material utilization and significant cost savings.
